President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree imposing sanctions against five Chinese companies. The relevant document was published on July 8 on the website of the office of the Ukrainian leader.
According to the decree, the Government of Ukraine imposes restrictions against the manufacturer and exporter of metalworking equipment NINGBO BLIN Machinery Co and the chip manufacturing and sales company Shenzhen Jinduobang Technology Co.
In addition, the sanctions will affect Suzhou Ecod Precision Manufacturing Co, which manufactures parts for medical equipment, the aerospace industry and the automotive industry, Central Asia Silk Road International Trade and Shenzhen Royo Technology Co, a software development company.
The sanctions will include the blocking of assets on the territory of Ukraine, the restriction of trade operations, the prevention of the withdrawal of capital outside the country, the cancellation of licenses, as well as the deprivation of all Ukrainian state awards.
As reported by Gazeta.On June 20, the Ukrainian leader imposed sanctions against 56 Russian individuals and 55 legal entities from Russia, China and Belarus. At that time, it was clarified that the list included six legal entities from China and one from Belarus.
On July 8, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, called on Beijing to reconsider its foreign policy and limit interaction with Russia. She noted that China's current position allegedly strengthens Russia's "military economy."
