Five cases of measles have been identified in Chita since the beginning of 2025

Since the beginning of 2025, five cases of measles have been registered in Chita. Four of them took place between June 10 and June 20.

According to the ChitaMedia news agency with reference to the Department of Rospotrebnadzor in Transbaikalia, measles was detected in four children. They didn't get vaccinated because of their parents' refusal. One adult also got measles.

It turned out that the disease was imported to Chita from Vietnam and Moscow. Further, measles spread in the family to which the first case returned.

Earlier, on July 7, it was reported that the US authorities recorded the highest incidence of measles in the last 33 years: more than 1.2 thousand confirmed cases were registered in 38 states and the District of Columbia.
