US President Donald Trump intends to impose additional import duties on goods from a number of countries around the world from August 1. He stated this on July 7 in letters to the leaders of these countries, published on his Truth Social network.

Trump announced the imposition of 35% duties on all products from Serbia and Bangladesh, 30% duties on goods from Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as a 32% tariff on goods from Indonesia. According to the US president, these measures are designed to reduce the trade deficit and balance economic relations.

Earlier in the day, Trump intends to impose a 25% tariff on goods from Kazakhstan and Malaysia, as well as 40% duties on all products from Laos and Myanmar. The United States will also impose duties of 25% on all goods of Korean and Japanese origin imported into the country.
