YUGK denied information about the detention of billionaire Strukov
Information about the detention of billionaire Konstantin Strukov, Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Chelyabinsk Region, is not true. This was announced on July 6 in the press service of the Yuzhuralzoloto Group of Companies (YUGK).
According to company representatives, employees of the Federal Bailiff Service (FSSP) handed Strukov a summons at the Chelyabinsk airport, but there was no detention. It is also reported in YUGK that the entrepreneur did not try to leave Russia.
"I have nowhere to go, I'm not going to run, Russia is my homeland," the YUGK press service quoted Strukov as saying.
A source from Izvestia reported on July 5 that the Russian Prosecutor General's Office was demanding that Strukov's assets be confiscated. According to the agency, he illegally took over Yuzhuralzoloto and 10 other companies that are registered to his daughter, a Swiss citizen.
Later, the businessman was banned from flying from Chelyabinsk. According to the Izvestia source, Strukov tried to leave the city on a private jet, which had previously been arrested by court order. The Federal Air Transport Agency did not give permission for the aircraft to take off.
