One person was killed and four injured in an accident in the Sakhalin region.

An accident occurred in the village of Chekhov in the Kholmsky district of the Sakhalin region, as a result of which a passenger was killed and four more people, including one child, were injured. This was announced on June 6 by the regional State Traffic Inspectorate.

According to preliminary data, a 37-year-old woman, not having the right to drive a vehicle, while driving a Toyota Starlet car under the influence of alcohol, lost control and drove into the oncoming lane. After that, she collided with a Toyota Shienta car.

"As a result of the accident, a 44-year-old passenger of a Toyota Starlet car died from his injuries at the scene. The driver and a 10-year—old girl passenger of a Toyota Starlet car with injuries of varying severity were hospitalized in a medical facility," the press service said in a Telegram channel.

In addition, the driver and passenger of a Toyota Shienta car were injured. The ministry noted that all the participants in the accident were not wearing seat belts while in their cars. Experts are checking the incident.

On July 5, the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Rostov region reported the death of a minor teenager as a result of a collision between two cars. It was clarified that the accident occurred on the Rostov–Volgodonsk highway, a passenger born in 2008 died on the spot, three more people were injured.
