Politico learned about Kiev's plans to purchase American weapons through Europe
Kiev wants to get Washington's permission to purchase American weapons through European intermediaries. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on July 2.
"Ukraine is trying to get the United States to send it more weapons. Therefore, she plans <...> to ask Washington to allow Europe to purchase American weapons for Ukraine," the publication says.
It is clarified that the new strategy of the Kiev regime was discussed when the administration of US President Donald Trump decided to suspend arms supplies to Ukraine.
Currently, the authorities of some European countries are exploring options for purchasing American weapons from their military budgets for transfer to Kiev, which will be carried out only with Washington's approval.
Bloomberg reported on July 2 that one of the US's NATO allies was putting pressure on the Pentagon to reconsider Trump's decision to suspend arms supplies to Ukraine. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on the same day that the suspension of arms supplies to Ukraine meant not only Washington's shortage of ammunition, but also the hope for a faster end to the Ukrainian conflict.
