Among Russians, residents of Chechnya and Ingushetia have the most free time. This was found out by experts from the FinExpertiza audit and consulting network, who analyzed Rosstat data. The results of the study are available to Izvestia.

Residents of Chechnya have 5 hours and 51 minutes of free time per day. The population of Ingushetia, North Ossetia, Dagestan and Karachay-Cherkessia has also been resting for a relatively long time. Residents of these regions have from 5 hours 36 minutes to 4 hours 48 minutes of free time. At the same time, on average, Russians can allocate only 4 hours and 7 minutes to rest. These figures do not include the time spent sleeping.

Residents of the North Caucasus allocate more free time than other Russians due to the peculiarities of their value system, said Lyudmila Ryazantseva, a teacher-psychologist at the Moscow Art and Industrial Institute.

"In traditional Caucasian cultures, family and social ties have historically taken precedence over work in the Western sense. It's about the philosophy of life, where time for communication, reflection and recovery is seen as a natural necessity, not a luxury," she said.
