The State Duma told about the laws coming into force in July
In July, laws aimed at protecting Russians from fraudsters, strengthening control over migrants, and others will come into force. Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin told about this on June 30 in his Telegram channel.
"Additional measures are being introduced to protect citizens from fraudsters. <...> Control over migrants is being strengthened. <...> Foreign agents can now be held accountable in absentia for violating the operating procedure," he said.
Those who purchase other people's bank cards and use them to withdraw fraudulently obtained funds face up to six years in prison. In addition, criminal penalties are also provided for transferring cards or account data to intruders for personal gain, or performing operations at the direction of third parties.
Citizens also face punishment for disclosing bank secrets. Thus, criminal liability for illegally obtaining and disclosing information that contains commercial, tax or banking secrets will be tightened. For such acts, they face imprisonment for up to five years with a fine of up to 5 million rubles.
As part of the increased control over migrants, it is prohibited to provide communication services to foreign citizens who have not confirmed their identity using biometrics at the communication salon. Information about the passage of mandatory fingerprint registration by migrants will also appear in the population information register.
Earlier, on June 28, it was reported that in Russia, from July 1, the rules for storing personal data of citizens will be changed. So, there will be a ban on storing information abroad.
