In the Izobilnensky district of the Stavropol Territory, five people were killed and two injured in a head-on collision between two passenger cars. This was announced on Sunday, June 29, by the press service of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the region.

"According to preliminary data, on June 28 at about 23:20 Moscow time on the Stavropol – Izobilny – Novoalexandrovsk–Krasnogvardeyskoye highway, the driver of a Renault Duster drove into the oncoming lane, after which a collision with a VAZ-2104 car occurred," the agency said in a Telegram channel message.

As a result of the collision, a 39-year—old VAZ driver and three of his passengers, one of whom is a minor, and a 39-year-old Renault passenger died on the spot. The 14-year-old passenger of the VAZ and the 38-year-old driver of the foreign car were hospitalized.

The Renault driver has not been brought to administrative responsibility over the past two years, the department said. He is currently being checked for intoxication.

The circumstances of the incident are being clarified.

Earlier, on June 28, an accident occurred in the Tver region, as a result of which one person was killed and four were injured. The circumstances of the accident are being established.
