Police seized cannabis from a man at St. Petersburg airport
At St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport, transport police officers seized a package containing a narcotic substance from a local resident. This was announced on June 25 by the press service of the Transport Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the North-Western Federal District.
It is specified that at the airport, at the baggage inspection point, the transport police found a 40-year-old passenger with a package containing a green substance of plant origin, as well as a smoking pipe. The man himself planned to fly to Antalya (Turkey).
"What was found was seized and sent for examination, as a result of which it was established that the seized substance is a narcotic drug-cannabis (marijuana) weighing 1.34 g," the Telegram channel says.
The ministry added that a criminal case was opened against the defendant under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 1 of Article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempted smuggling of narcotic drugs").
On June 23, a court in Novosibirsk sentenced a woman to nine years in prison for the illegal sale of narcotic drugs. It was noted that the accused, together with an unidentified person, purchased a narcotic substance, and then made 19 hiding places in the Kirovsky district.
