- A Muscovite woman suspected of preparing a terrorist attack was arrested in St. Petersburg.
The Primorsky District Court of St. Petersburg has detained a 24-year-old native of Moscow, suspected of attempting to commit a terrorist act. This was reported on June 24 in the joint press service of the city courts.
"The investigation believes that the girl, being an adherent of pro—Ukrainian ideology, having a dislike for the current Russian government, received a task from unidentified persons," the courts clarified in the Telegram channel.
According to the investigation, the girl received a task from unidentified persons to install an improvised explosive device (IED) on the car of the department head of one of the companies.
The suspect was unable to identify the IED and was detained while trying to leave the crime scene by officers of the FSB of Russia in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.
A case has been opened against the girl under Part 3 of Article 30 — paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code ("Attempted terrorist act") and paragraph "a" of Part 3 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code ("Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, transfer or carrying of explosives or explosive devices devices").
The suspect fully admitted her guilt and did not object to the choice of a preventive measure.
On June 19, it was reported that the Second Western District Military Court sentenced Viktor Mosienko, a director and actor from Novosibirsk, to 17 years in prison for high treason and attempted sabotage. It was noted that the activities of the defendant were stopped when the man tried to travel to Ukraine to participate in hostilities against the Russian army.
