A resident of Magadan gave 2 million rubles to fraudsters
In Magadan, the police are conducting an investigation into fraud, as a result of which a 73-year-old man was injured. He lost about 2 million rubles.
According to the victim, in one of the messengers he received a message allegedly from the head. The text stated that law enforcement officials should contact the man. Soon, a stranger called the pensioner, who stated that fraudulent actions had been recorded on the bank accounts of the Magadan resident. Then a "representative of Rosfinmonitoring" contacted the victim.
To solve the problem, the Magadan resident was offered to transfer all funds to "secure accounts," writes IA MagadanMedia. The man followed the instructions and made several transfers using an ATM.
A criminal case has been opened into fraud.
Since the beginning of 2025, fraudsters have deprived local residents of 270 million rubles in the Kamchatka Territory.
