Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba plans to withdraw from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit in The Hague due to the US attack on Iran's nuclear facility. This was reported on June 23 by the NHK TV channel.

"Isiba is considering canceling its participation in the NATO summit scheduled for this week, taking into account the tense situation in the Middle East, including the US attack on Iranian nuclear facilities," the article says.

The article clarifies that, perhaps, instead of the Japanese Prime Minister, the country's Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya will attend the summit. According to the newspaper, the decision may also be made due to the fact that US President Donald Trump may be absent from the event.

On June 21, Politico reported that the program of the upcoming NATO summit in The Hague, which will be held on June 24-25, does not include a meeting on conflicts in the Middle East.
