The United States has sent two groups of B-2 strategic bombers to divert attention during an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities. This was reported by The New York Times (NYT) on June 23.

"They built their own deception into the attack plan: the second group of B-2 bombers was supposed to leave Missouri and head west over the Pacific Ocean so that observers could track the flights on Saturday. This created a misconception among many observers and, presumably, Iran about the time and trajectory of the attack, which should have come from a completely different direction," the newspaper said.

According to the newspaper, US military officials sent two groups of B-2 bombers from Missouri at approximately the same time in order to confuse Iran. One group was supposed to fly west towards the island of Guam with transponders turned on so that they could be tracked using commercial satellites, and the other group was supposed to fly east towards Iran, which had its transponders turned off.

It is specified that such a step was taken by the US authorities in order to remain unnoticed. B-2 strategic bombers are the only military aircraft that cannot be detected by Iranian radars.

On June 21, US Vice President Jay Dee Vance, on the air of the American Fox News channel, commenting on the position of US President Donald Trump on the Iranian nuclear program, said that the head of state would try to resolve the conflict with Iran diplomatically to the last. He stressed that Trump intends to use diplomacy as long as he believes there is such an opportunity.

On the same day, Trump announced that the US armed forces had successfully attacked three Iranian nuclear facilities. It is specified that the strikes hit three nuclear facilities in Iran, including Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan.
