The heads of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries condemned Israel's actions aimed at destabilizing the situation in the Middle East and agreed to establish a contact group to work on de-escalation. This is stated on June 22 in the Istanbul declaration, adopted following a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC countries, held in Turkey.

According to the decision of the Ministers, an open contact group will be established, which will be tasked with establishing regular contacts with international and regional parties to support efforts to reduce tensions and find a peaceful settlement.

"We call on the international community to take deterrent measures to stop this aggression and hold Israel accountable for the crimes committed," NTV Haber quoted the statement as saying.

The document also stresses the need to urgently convene a UN International Conference on Palestine, and calls the Israeli attacks on Iran a threat to the humanitarian, economic and environmental stability of the region.

In addition, the foreign ministers demanded the immediate opening of all checkpoints on the border with the Gaza Strip and the delivery of humanitarian aid there.

On June 17, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelati called for an immediate cessation of hostilities between Israel and Iran during a telephone conversation. During the conversation, Lavrov and Abdelati expressed deep concern over Israel's military action against Iran in violation of the United Nations Charter and international law.
