Cooperation between Russia and Indonesia in the economic sphere involves the promotion of relations between banks. The text of the declaration on strategic partnership between the parties was published on the Kremlin's website on June 19.

"The strategic partnership provides for <...> the promotion of correspondent relations between Russian and Indonesian commercial banks to ensure direct settlements in national currencies," the document says.

It is noted that Moscow and Jakarta are ready to provide assistance to entrepreneurs of the two countries, creating favorable conditions for investment and industrial cooperation, as well as encouraging cooperation in the field of scientific research.

Also, according to the declaration, the states intend to expand cooperation in the fields of energy, mining and processing of minerals, agriculture and biotechnology.

Russia presented samples of aviation and other equipment at the exhibition in Jakarta.

Earlier that day, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Indonesian counterpart Prabowo Subianto adopted a declaration on strategic partnership between the two countries. The parties also signed an agreement on the creation of a €2 billion Russian-Indonesian investment platform.
