The head of the DPR noted the growing interest of foreign investors in Donbass
Foreign investors are showing increasing interest in Donbas. Denis Pushilin, the head of the Donetsk People's Republic, told Izvestia on June 19 on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025).
"The trend is encouraging," he said.
On the sidelines of the SPIEF, Pushilin continued, cooperation agreements were signed with a number of regions, including Bashkortostan, Yakutia and the Tomsk Region. In addition, the DPR is working with federal forestry agencies.
"This is an important issue, given that we do not have many forests, and we also have to liberate part of the territory and then mine it. And, of course, the planting, the restoration of what was lost and what was destroyed as a result of the fighting," the head of the DPR emphasized.
Pushilin added that on Wednesday, seven agreements were signed at the SPIEF site, and some of them involved direct investments in various areas, including the development of granite quarries in the republic and in the construction sector.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on June 10 that Moscow welcomes the interest of foreign citizens in Russia. According to him, the visits of foreigners help to form an objective view of the country, and the Russian Federation as a whole remains open to visitors from abroad.
