In Russia, the amount of expenses for the cycle of creating medicines has tripled in a year. This was announced on June 19 by Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko at the session "Development of medical technologies — the key to improving the quality of life" at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025).

"The cost from the development to the release of the drug has actually tripled over the past year, and the cost of medical products has doubled," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

In addition, he added that the regulatory landscape in Russian medicine has changed quite a lot at the moment.

On June 18, Murashko said that almost 85% of the medicines that are being brought to the Russian market are produced domestically. According to him, Russia is making huge strides towards drug safety, both industrial and scientific, as well as regulatory.
