The Iranian president named the conditions for resuming negotiations with the United States.

Iran will continue negotiations with the United States only if the Israeli attacks stop. This was stated on June 16 by Iranian President Masoud Peseshkian in a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"In response to a phone call from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday, Masoud Peseshkian called Iran's return to nuclear talks with the United States 'possible only if the aggression of the Zionist regime against the region is prevented,—" Peseshkian said, according to a statement posted on his official website.

According to the president, during the negotiations on the nuclear program, the United States promised Iran that Israel would not take any action without their permission. He clarified that before the start of a new round of negotiations, Israel nevertheless attacked the Islamic Republic, and the United States allowed it, therefore, in order for the resumption of negotiations, the latter needs to stop attacks on Iran.

Peseshkian also stressed that Iran was not the initiator of the conflict, but it will definitely respond to Israeli attacks.

"At whatever level they attack, they will receive a response at the same level," he concluded.

The Jewish State has attacked at least 60 locations in eight provinces of the Islamic Republic from the air.

On June 15, against the backdrop of the confrontation between Israel and Iran, US President Donald Trump said before departing for the G7 summit that Washington was considering the possibility of concluding a deal to resolve the conflict. He pointed out that the current situation provides a good chance for concluding an agreement, and confirmed the US intention to support Israel's defense.

Israel struck Iran on June 13 and declared a state of emergency. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to strike at Iran's nuclear infrastructure. In response, Iran launched several waves of missile attacks.
