AvtoVAZ showed a new modification of Lada Granta

AvtoVAZ presented a ready-made copy of the Lada Granta liftback in the Active Cross modification. The car was brought to the Wild Mint music festival in the Tula region, the Izvestia correspondent reports on June 15. The domestic manufacturer has not yet announced the timing of the start of sales of new items, as well as prices.

The Lada Granta Active Cross was announced back in May, and this model is equipped with an upgraded chassis. The ground clearance of the liftback was increased from 180 mm (for a conventional liftback) to 198 mm. Another feature of the new product, the company called the optimized geometry of the body with shortened overhangs and a smooth bottom without protruding elements — this should provide characteristics comparable to compact crossovers, AvtoVAZ noted.

Lada Granta Active Cross will be equipped with 1.6-liter engines with a capacity of 90 and 106 hp and a five-speed manual transmission. The basic package will include two airbags, air conditioning, heated front seats, an audio system and other options.

The price and the start of sales of a new potential bestseller have become known.

Earlier, on June 11, it was reported that the new Lada Iskra model received the highest score based on the results of crash tests conducted according to the standards of the ARCAP methodology developed by experts of the Autoreview publication. This is a more stringent standard than that provided for by certification tests in accordance with the requirements of Russian legislation.
