Almost 2,000 Russians are stuck in the UAE due to the situation in the Middle East.
About 2,000 Russian citizens cannot fly from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to the conflict in the Middle East. This was announced on June 14 on the official website of the Association of Tour Operators of the Russian Federation.
"Currently, tour operators are "clearing up the mess" with tourists in the UAE: both those tourists who have completed their planned vacation in the Emirates themselves and those who arrived in the UAE on their way home do not get on canceled or delayed flights <...>. Collectively, both of them at the time of the evening on June 14 — about 2 thousand people," the publication says.
It is specified that Russian citizens are waiting for departure to the Russian Federation, staying in hotels. As a result, the conflict in the Middle East has hit the tourism business "from the UAE." The state has turned out to be a massive vacation destination and one of the three largest hubs through which trips are organized, ranging from Europe, Southeast Asia, the islands of the Indian Ocean, and ending with Africa, the United States.
Earlier, on June 14, passengers of cancelled flights from the UAE spoke about the situation at airports. In their opinion, the travel operators were negligent towards the passengers.
