Earlier, as part of the exercises, the frigate Admiral Kasatonov of the Fleet and the large anti-submarine ship Vice Admiral Kulakov of the Northern Fleet carried out artillery firing at sea and air targets.

In addition, representatives of anti-terror groups conducted training sessions for participants in the events on the inspection and release of ships seized by terrorists.

"As part of the development of joint actions by the Navy and the Aerospace Forces to ensure the safety of navigation, take measures to prevent the seizure of ships, and prevent other illegal actions by unfriendly states against them, the crews of Su-27 fighter jets of the aviation regiment stationed in the Kaliningrad Region conducted training battles with simulated enemy aircraft," they said. in the department.

It is specified that the fighters alerted during the training carried out a search for the enemy and carried out conditional launches of air-to-air missiles at designated targets.

"As part of maintaining a favorable operational regime and practicing the actions of the fleet forces to defend their bases, a planned exercise of the Baltic Fleet forces has been underway in the Baltic Sea since May 27 with the involvement of part of the forces of the Northern Fleet with the support of the Aerospace Forces, the Moscow and Leningrad Military Districts," the military recalled.

It is noted that up to 20 warships, boats and support vessels, about 25 aircraft and helicopters, up to 70 units of military and special equipment, as well as about three thousand military personnel are participating in the events.
