The Russian government is creating a Center for the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in order to systematize the introduction of technologies in the territory of the state. This was announced on June 9 by Dmitry Grigorenko, Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of Staff of the Government of the Russian Federation.

"Our task is to ensure that the results of the introduction of artificial intelligence are available to all Russians, and our country increases its competitiveness in world markets through the development of modern technologies. The center is being created to coordinate the efforts of all participants in the development of AI technologies in Russia," Grigorenko said, his words are quoted on the official website of the Government of the Russian Federation.

In addition, one of the tasks of the center will be to replicate the best practices that exist in Russia. "Best practices" refers to solutions that have become not only effective, but also safe.

In addition, the center is tasked with achieving regulatory and legal regulation aimed at ensuring the safety of artificial intelligence technologies in Russia and organizing international cooperation. It is specified that the facility will be created on the basis of the analytical center under the government as a federal project office.

On June 2, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that Russia needs to create conditions for the development of breakthrough scientific fields. He noted that the country should not only catch up with the leaders in this field, but also compete successfully with them.
