In the village of Liman, Astrakhan region, a child died from an electric shock. This was announced on Sunday, June 8, by the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.

"The Ikryaninsky interdistrict investigative department of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Astrakhan region has organized a procedural check on the death of a 10-year—old boy as a result of electric shock," the department's Telegram channel clarified.

According to preliminary data, the child was visiting his grandparents. While on a stepladder, the boy was picking berries from a tree located on a neighboring plot. During the gathering, he accidentally touched a part of a bare electrical wire and received a fatal electric shock.

Currently, the investigative and operational group is working at the scene, all the circumstances of the incident are being established.

On the same day, it was reported that the body of a 7-year-old boy who drowned two days earlier in the Ucha River was found in the Pushkin City district of the Moscow region. Two children aged seven and eight entered the water in an unintended place for swimming. One of them was swept away by the current.
