Belarusian tennis player Sobolenko reached the final of Roland Garros
Belarusian tennis player Arina Sobolenko, the first racket of the world, beat her Polish opponent Igu Schwentek, the former leader of the women's world ranking, in the semifinals of the French Open Roland Garros. The match took place on June 5th.
The meeting lasted 2 hours and 19 minutes and ended with a score 7:6 (7:1), 4:6, 6:0 in favor of Sobolenko, seeded at number one. The Polish tennis player received the fifth seeding number.
The athlete from Belarus reached the final of the tournament for the first time in the history of her career. As noted by "Gazeta.Ru", in the final she will play with the winner of the match between Lois Boisson from France and Corey Gauff from the USA.
On June 3, Russian tennis players, silver medalists of the Olympic Games in Paris Mirra Andreeva and Diana Schneider qualified for the semifinals of the Roland Gross doubles tournament. They beat the duet of Russian Anastasia Potapova and Serbian tennis player Olga Danilovich. The game lasted 1 hour and 23 minutes and ended with the score 6:3, 7:5.
