The area of forest fires in the Khabarovsk Territory increased 1.5 times per day
Fires in the Khabarovsk Territory have covered 7.7 thousand hectares of forests, which is 1.5 times the area of gorenje that occurred the day before. This was announced on June 4 by the Ministry of Forestry and Timber Processing in the region.
"Five fires have been registered in the Khabarovsk Territory on an area of 7,689 hectares," TASS quoted the ministry as saying.
Gorenje is located in Khabarovsk, Verkhnebureinsky and Sovetsko-Gavansky districts. The largest fire is located near the settlement of Etyrken, its area is 4.9 thousand hectares. During the day it increased by about 900 hectares. In addition, in the Verkhnebureinsky district near the settlement of Alonka, the forest is burning on an area of 2.2 thousand hectares.
The ministry noted that firefighting continues. 122 specialists, five pieces of equipment and eight aircraft are involved in the work.
On June 3, the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Trans-Baikal Territory reported that rescuers had prevented the spread of 13 forest fires on an area of more than 183 thousand hectares in the region. It is specified that during the day, the Ministry of Emergency Situations eliminated eight fires in Alexandrovo-Zavodsky, Gazimuro-Zavodsky, Karymsky, Krasnochikoysky, Nerchinsk-Zavodsky, Tungiro-Olekminsky, Uletovsky and Chita districts on an area of more than 6 thousand hectares.
