The number of robotic systems at Russian enterprises needs to be increased fivefold within six years. This was announced on May 28 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with students of technical universities.

"In six years, of course, we will have to do everything necessary to increase the number of robotic systems in enterprises by about five times. We need to increase the density to 145 units per 10,000 employees," TASS quoted him as saying.

According to the Prime Minister, there are currently 29 robots per 10,000 employees in Russia. Mishustin stressed that state support tools will be used to achieve this goal. He also recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin had set a goal according to which Russia should enter the top 25 countries in terms of robotics.

"Automated complexes are now actively used not only in the automotive and metalworking industries, where they have become commonplace, but also in aviation, shipbuilding, pharmaceuticals, the food industry, light industry, oil and gas sector, and logistics operations," Mishustin added.

On May 26, Putin said that the development of robotics in Russia is one of the main directions. According to the head of state, Russia is following the right path in this area. He also noted that the payback period for the creation of new enterprises is quite long.
