There is a potential for conflict in international relations in the context of the transition to a multipolar world order. This was stated on May 28 by Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergei Shoigu during the 13th International Meeting of High-level Representatives in charge of security issues.

"Against the background of the transition to a multipolar world, unpredictability and significant conflict potential remain in international relations," Shoigu said.

According to him, international security is influenced by both past and emerging crises, which affect all countries of the world in the context of modern information technology. The Secretary of the Security Council stressed that building security on the basis of equality and respect is the main task of the international community.

"We appreciate that such approaches by the Russian side find a lively response from most of the countries of the world, whose representatives arrived in Moscow today," Shoigu added.

On May 24, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Western countries were ambivalent about the situation with the strengthening of multipolarity. The Russian Federation, in turn, is convinced that the formation of a multipolar world is a "natural process," the Russian Foreign Minister noted.
