Leaders and opinions: 25 million people have joined the Russia — Land of Opportunity projects

Over 25 million people have participated in the projects of the Russia — Land of Opportunity platform over the seven years of its existence. This was stated by Vladimir Putin on May 27 at a meeting of the organization's supervisory board. These are not only residents of all regions of the Russian Federation, but also citizens of 150 countries. Over the years, the number of Russians who believe that the country has all the conditions for self—realization has more than doubled, from 37% to 80%. The meeting also launched a new stream of the "This is our family business" competition and promised to develop a new project for agricultural managers. Which city Vladimir Putin was invited to and which sectors of the economy are the most promising in the Russian Federation today — in the Izvestia article.
Participants of the "Russia — the land of opportunities" projects
On May 27, Vladimir Putin held a meeting of the supervisory board of the Autonomous Non—Profit Organization "Russia — the Land of Opportunities" in the Kremlin. This is a system of social elevators that helps many people develop: schoolchildren and students, specialized specialists and managers, entrepreneurs and volunteers. People of different ages gathered at a table in the Catherine Hall of the Kremlin — 94-year—old grandmother Zhenya, a finalist of the TopBLOG project, the Kryuchkov family with many children from Stavropol and the mayor of Perm, the winner of the Leaders of Russia project.
In just seven years, Russia — the Land of Opportunities has implemented more than 60 projects, competitions and Olympiads. The platform was created in 2018 at the initiative of the president: Vladimir Putin, in his message to the Federal Assembly, said: "For everyone who wants to work, prove themselves, and honestly serve the Fatherland and people, and achieve success, Russia will always be a land of opportunity."
Two months later, a decree was issued on the creation of a new structure. Today, the platform's events have brought together participants from 89 regions of the country. Vladimir Putin believes that over the seven years of its existence, this project has shown its relevance and impressive results.
— More than 25 million people have joined various programs of this platform. The scale is serious. This, of course, indicates that the work of this program is necessary, relevant, and the proposed formats enjoy the attention, interest, and trust of all its participants. This result is certainly impressive. He proves how many active, purposeful people there are in our country who are ready to move forward, improve their knowledge and skills, conquer new heights, and eventually achieve success for the benefit of our fellow citizens, society, and the whole country. And this is also a way, of course, to self—actualize and achieve such significant results for each participant in this program," the head of state noted.
In addition to Russians, citizens of other countries are also showing interest in the contests: for example, 32 foreign winners of the Leaders of Russia have decided to link their future with the Russian Federation and have already received citizenship. In total, the participants of the projects were citizens of more than 150 countries, including Western Europe and North America.
— The number of foreign representatives is growing in spite of, and perhaps because of, the information campaign unleashed against us. They share our views, face the fact that the so—called ruling elites in some Western countries turn freedoms, democracy, human rights, and opportunities into decorations, and actually ignore the opinion of societies," Vladimir Putin said.
The new season of the "It's a family thing" contest
According to sociologists, back in 2017, before the creation of the platform, only 37% of citizens believed that young people had all the necessary conditions for self—realization in the Russian Federation. Now this figure has increased to 80%. At the meeting, Anton Muromtsev, Deputy head of the Science Department of the Talent and Success Foundation of the Sirius Federal Educational Center, suggested that the president launch a joint project to identify and support talented students in colleges and technical schools in the country. Vladimir Putin supported this idea.
The head of state also launched a new season of the "It's a family thing" contest.
— We are very happy about this, because thanks to such contests we grow into families, new marriages and large families. This is very important because ambassadors like we saw today, the winners of last season, contribute to the value of the family, and this is very important for a country like ours," Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova told Izvestia.
A family from Stavropol, where 18 children are being raised, told the president that they were able to go on vacation in full thanks to the "This is our family" contest. According to the mother of the family, Elena Kryuchkova, they are raising five blood-related and 13 "born of the heart" children. According to their daughter, the family went on a trip to the Arctic Circle.
— We flew on an airplane for the first time and occupied as many as three rows there. We traveled by train, and half of the car was ours. We visited Apatity, Murmansk, the Khibiny Mountains, the village of Teriberka, and even saw the northern Lights," said Alyona.
At the same time, there is still potential for the development of the platform. Vladimir Putin urged to take a closer look at the development of agriculture: the agricultural sector in the Russian Federation is becoming a highly productive and very interesting area of work. The first deputy head of the presidential administration, Sergei Kiriyenko, clarified that such a project for agricultural managers could be implemented jointly with the Ministry of Agriculture and the government.
— Now the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture is doing a lot to change the attitude towards the image of an employee. There was an image of cows twisting their tails. And today these are modern technologies, absolutely unique experience and qualifications. Then we would have written <...> that we would make such a joint project for managers in agriculture together with the Ministry of Agriculture and the government,— Sergei Kiriyenko suggested.
Agriculture in Russia has reached a qualitatively new level of development: The agro-industrial complex has become one of the most dynamically developing industries, it ensures food security, creates jobs and develops technologically, Yulia Ogloblina, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Agrarian Issues, told Izvestia.
— A modern agricultural manager needs not only knowledge of the specifics of production, but also a deep understanding of digital technologies, logistics, project and risk management, as well as sustainable development. Managers should be able to work with data, make decisions based on analytics, build effective teams and implement innovations," the deputy believes.
How is the "Leaders of Russia" contest going?
The flagship project of the platform is the Leaders of Russia management competition. Over five seasons, more than 1 million people from Russia and 150 countries have become its participants. A considerable part of the discussion was devoted to him at the meeting. More than 600 participants were appointed to managerial positions. Among them are five governors, nine deputy federal ministers, 23 deputies of the State Duma and two senators of the Russian Federation, heads of 16 Russian cities and municipalities.
Vladimir Putin recalled that the winners of the new season will be determined in 2026, the year of the election of deputies of the new convocation of the State Duma.
— And many of them will probably also nominate their candidacies for the court of voters, citizens of Russia. I want to wish them success and hope that they will take another step in their career in the best, truest sense of the word," Vladimir Putin drew attention.
Dmitry Oguryaev, Vice President of Rostelecom PJSC and winner of the competition, proposed creating an opportunity for civil servants to digitalize internal processes independently, without IT development and bureaucracy, based on the State Services Platform at GOSTEK.
Vladimir Putin supported the proposal to create such a service. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, who participated in the meeting, also reacted positively to her.
— The most important thing is that we have created tools that will allow us to do this quickly enough. And additional financing will not even be required," he stressed.
The Mayor of Perm, Eduard Sosnin, shared his positive impressions of studying at Senezh and suggested making this institution a universal training platform. The President agreed and added separately that before the event he had talked with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin and discussed the development of Perm with him. Eduard Sosnin invited the head of state to visit the city.
They also touched upon another relatively new personnel program designed to retrain returning CBO fighters, the Time of Heroes. It is already being effectively implemented, Dmitry Chernyshenko said. As it became known at the meeting, Vladimir Putin has already approved the list of those who have passed the second stream of the program. Vladimir Putin said that two brigade commanders participating in the Free Military district had been selected for the Time of Heroes contest, but they would be released there "a little later."
The Head of State stressed that if participants in a special operation enter such contests after passing difficult selections, then they should be given the opportunity to participate in them. "Well, then we'll see, they can return to the Armed Forces and grow in other areas. It's just that it will be a little later, for a couple of months," the president concluded.
