The Arkhangelsk nuclear-powered submarine fired at a coastal target
The Northern Fleet's nuclear-powered submarine Arkhangelsk successfully fired a Kalibr cruise missile at a coastal target during planned combat training activities. This was reported on May 23 in the press service of the Northern Fleet.
It is specified that the launch was carried out from the Barents Sea at the Chizha landfill located in the Arkhangelsk region. The distance to the target position was over 600 km. According to objective control data, the shooting was successful, and all flight and technical parameters were confirmed.
The commander of the Northern Fleet, Vice Admiral Konstantin Kabantsov, noted that during the preparation and conduct of the shooting, the crew showed professionalism and naval training.
On May 11, the press service of the Pacific Fleet reported that the nuclear-powered underwater missile cruiser Krasnoyarsk successfully fired a Kalibr missile system and an anti-submarine torpedo missile in a designated area of the Pacific Ocean. After that, the ship returned to its base in Kamchatka.
