Rusnano Corporation no longer borrows funds and has overcome the liquidity crisis. This became known at a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Sergey Kulikov, Chairman of the management company's board. He also presented new projects, in particular, a plant for extracting useful components from landfills and the first electric taxi fleet.

What was discussed at the meeting

Rusnano Corporation has overcome the liquidity crisis, said the Chairman of the Management Board. The utilization rate of budget funds has been increased over the past four years to 6.2. According to Sergey Kulikov, the Ministry of Finance considers this result to be quite good among state-owned companies.

"The portfolio has increased both in quality, in terms of investment and technological maturity, and in value by 160%. We tried to make the yield on outputs not lower than the key rate, so that mass investors would see that investing in so—called deeptech or high-tech projects, especially with proper management, is profitable and interesting," said the head of the corporation.

Previously, Rusnano had a debt of 440 billion rubles, of which 178 billion rubles was in interest. "In total, the turbulence has passed. It's probably time to catch up and compare directions. We have developed some strategy scenarios with the federal executive authorities," said Sergey Kulikov. At the same time, the corporation no longer borrows resources. Recall that in October 2023, Rusnano announced that it was unable to fulfill its obligations to creditors at its own expense and stated that it currently meets the criteria of insolvency under the bankruptcy law. The corporation's net debt for the first half of 2023 amounted to 95.6 billion rubles. Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, said at the time that financial recovery measures were being taken at the corporation.

As the situation improves, Rusnano and Norilsk Nickel plan to build a joint plant to extract useful components from landfills. This will allow us to demonstrate that ecology can be attractive for investment — not only useful, but also profitable, Sergey Kulikov believes. There are also projects with Russian Railways and Rosseti. For example, the first electric taxi fleet was launched in Nizhny Novgorod.
