China will continue to support efforts to establish peace in Ukraine

China will continue to support all efforts to promote peace and resolve the conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on May 19 by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the People's Republic of China.

"China will invariably continue to support all efforts contributing to peace (in Ukraine — Ed.)," RIA Novosti quoted the ministry as saying

The Chinese Foreign Ministry stressed that the May 16 talks between Russia, Ukraine and Turkey in Istanbul are the result of joint efforts by the international community to promote reconciliation between the two countries.

The Russian leader called the relations between Russia and China a model of interstate communication.

Chinese President Xi Jinping said on May 9 that eliminating the root cause of the Ukrainian conflict and achieving a comprehensive solution to resolve it are tasks that need to be addressed.

Earlier today, the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning, said that China supports the continuation of dialogue between Russia and Ukraine to achieve a just settlement of the conflict. The Chinese Foreign Ministry also announced that Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing will visit Russia. The visit is scheduled for May 19-22, 2025.
