In Crimea, they called on the West to stop the trains with weapons going to Ukraine
On May 14, the head of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, called on Western countries to stop the trains carrying weapons heading for Ukraine.
He described the proposals of Western states to resolve the Ukrainian conflict as populist.
"If they want peace so much, let them tell us tomorrow that the trains with weapons are stopped at such and such a station, they are not going any further," Konstantinov told RIA Novosti.
In addition, the parliamentarian stressed that the cessation of hostilities along the entire line of contact will be possible only after the creation of global security mechanisms that take into account the requirements and interests of Russia.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said on May 11 that many Western countries were interested in continuing the conflict in Ukraine. In his opinion, the Western states will soon reconsider their position on this issue.
On March 2, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the United States was talking directly about the desire to end the conflict in Ukraine, but Europe demanded "the continuation of the banquet."
