A diesel locomotive and two wagons derailed in the Altai Territory. This was announced on Wednesday, May 14, by the press service of the Eastern Interregional Investigative Department for Transport (MCT) of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
"According to preliminary data, at Tyagun station in the Zarinsky district, during shunting operations, a diesel locomotive, one car and a trolley of another car collided without tipping over," the ministry said in a statement on its Telegram channel.
There were no casualties as a result of the incident. The amount of damage and the circumstances of the incident are being determined.
Investigators are conducting a pre-investigation check on signs of violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of railway transport (Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
On April 4, a repair train derailed on a section of the railway under construction in the settlement of Novofedorovskoye. According to the Izvestia source, three wagons overturned, and three people were previously injured — they had fractures of body parts.
