Hungary has postponed negotiations with Ukraine scheduled for May 12 on issues of national minorities. This was announced on May 11 by the Ukrainian Ministry of Justice.

"The meeting was supposed to be the beginning of regular negotiations," the Justice Ministry's Telegram channel said.

Consultations were planned in Uzhhorod, where the Ukrainian delegation has already arrived. The reason why Hungary postponed them is not specified.

On May 9, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto announced that the country was expelling two Ukrainian spies who worked under diplomatic cover at the Kiev Embassy in Budapest. According to him, Hungary "has never supplied Ukraine with weapons and never will."

Then Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga announced that the Hungarian Ambassador in Kiev had been handed a note ordering two Hungarian diplomats to leave the country in the next 48 hours. It was clarified that these actions were taken in response to Budapest's actions.
