One pedestrian was killed and two injured due to a hit-and-run by a racer in the Irkutsk region.

A resident of Angarsk, Irkutsk region, participated in illegal races and knocked down one pedestrian to death, two more people were injured. This was announced on May 11 by the regional prosecutor's office.

It was established that the driver of a Toyota Chaser car, while racing, ran over pedestrians who were near the roadway.

"As a result, a 17-year-old girl suffered life-threatening injuries and died at the scene. Two more pedestrians were also injured," the department's Telegram channel said.

A criminal case has been opened into the accident under Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules"), Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements").
