President of Ethiopia Taye Atsuke-Selassie will take part in events in Moscow dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This was announced on May 7 at the country's embassy in the Russian Federation.

"President of Ethiopia Taye Atsuke-Selassie will take part in the celebrations on May 9," the diplomatic mission told TASS.

It is specified that the head of Ethiopia plans to participate in the parade, an official dinner on May 8 and a breakfast with Russian President Vladimir Putin on May 9.

The country's main Victory anniversary parade will traditionally take place on Red Square in Moscow. As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted on April 30, the high-level representation of many countries at the Victory Day Parade in the Russian capital indicates that they share the importance of the May 9 holiday. In his opinion, Russia has not just allies, but states that are close in spirit and ideology.
