Soldiers of the special military operation (SVO) in the museum complex "Memory Road. 1418 steps to Victory" shared their impressions about the preparations for the Victory Day Parade in the Great Patriotic War, which will be held on May 9 in Moscow.

"I've never participated before, I really wanted to be at the parade myself, especially on the anniversary of the Great Victory, and they decided to go with the banner," said Vladimir Smirnov, a knight of the Order of Courage.

Hero of Russia Vyacheslav Potyshev spoke about his achievements at the front, for which he was awarded a state award.

"He received the Hero of Russia Star for his common contribution, joint work with drones, and the destruction of a large number of vehicles," the military said.

Potyshev also spoke about the feelings he felt when he learned that he would participate in the Victory Day Parade in Moscow. This news came as a real shock to him — he couldn't believe that he would be able to walk through Red Square.

The participants added that their families and friends are proud of them and will definitely follow the Victory Day Parade on May 9th.

The main parade of the country dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory will traditionally take place in Moscow on Red Square. A number of foreign leaders will join the event, including President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping and President of Brazil Lula da Silva.

According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the high-level representation of many countries at the Victory Day Parade in Moscow indicates that they share the importance of the May 9 holiday. He also believes that Russia has not just allies, but states that are close to it in spirit and ideology.
