The European Union (EU) plans to deprive Hungary of the right to join the EU due to the country's refusal to support Ukraine. This is reported by The Guardian newspaper.

"EU member states are now considering more seriously than ever how to apply their extreme sanction against Hungary: the deprivation of the right to vote in accordance with article seven of the EU treaty," the newspaper writes on April 19.

It is noted that the implementation of the idea is currently "at an early stage," she added. "Газета.Ru ".

However, the sources of the publication suggest that this idea will never be realized, since the abolition of voting rights requires a unanimous decision of all remaining EU members.

On March 17, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that Hungary did not support the allocation of a new package of military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of € 20 billion. He also stressed that the country's authorities would not agree to any steps for Ukraine's accession to the EU until the rights of the Hungarian national community in Transcarpathia were restored.
