"There are many caring Muscovites in the capital who help complete strangers preserve their health and lives," the Moscow City News agency quoted the official as saying.

Sobyanin added that out of almost 107 thousand donors, about 40 thousand people did it for the first time. In Moscow, you can donate blood at three departments of the Gavrilov Blood Center and 10 medical institutions. Before the procedure, you will have to pass the necessary tests. Donated blood is required for patients with bleeding, burns, injuries, as well as during major operations, women with complicated childbirth, and even newborns.
