IKEA has registered a new trademark in Russia
Swedish furniture company IKEA has registered a new trademark in Russia. This was confirmed on April 17 by the bulletin of the Federal Intellectual Property Service.
According to the information, the validity period of the exclusive right will last until July 28, 2033. The copyright holder is IKEA Systems B.V (Netherlands).
It is noted that the application for registration was posted in Rospatent back in 2023.
At the moment, the company has not commented on the situation.
Earlier, on February 17, Pavel Lyulin, vice president of the Union of Shopping Centers (UTS), said that the return of IKEA stores to Russia was quite problematic. He explained that the areas where the shops were located were already occupied in shopping malls. Therefore, if IKEA returns to Russia, it will be quite expensive for the company to return to this market.
IKEA has suspended the operation of its stores in Russia since March 4, 2022.
