The US State Department has approved the first sale of advanced precision weapons systems to Saudi Arabia in the amount of about $ 100 million against the backdrop of the United States attacks on Yemen. This was announced on Friday, March 21, according to the Reuters news agency, citing the Pentagon.

"The US State Department has approved the sale of advanced precision weapons of mass destruction systems to Saudi Arabia for about $100 million," the publication says.

In a potential deal, the United States is expected to provide Saudi Arabia with APKWS (laser guidance system) and related equipment, as well as provide training on how to use it.

As the agency noted, the message does not indicate whether the relevant agreement has been signed.

On the eve of March 20, it was reported that American aircraft attacked positions of the Ansar Allah movement (Houthis) in the Yemeni province of Hodeidah. American planes attacked the Al-Katib area in the El-Mina district four times.

On March 17, it was reported that dozens of Yemeni Houthis from Ansar Allah were killed in United States strikes on the territory of Hodeidah province. The day before, the Ansar Allah Houthis announced that they would reach a new level of escalation if the United States continued bombing Yemen.
