Employees of the US National Aerospace Administration for Aeronautics and Space Exploration (NASA) returned to their headquarters in Washington after working remotely to find the office infested with cockroaches. This was reported on March 16 by the Reuters news agency, citing two people "familiar with the terms."

On January 20, President Donald Trump ordered employees of the US federal government, many of whom worked from home after the coronavirus pandemic, to return to their offices full-time.

So, the agency reports that some employees did not have enough tables, so someone had to work just sitting on a chair. In addition, there were Internet outages in the office. Among themselves, NASA employees compared the struggle to find a job with the plot of the action movie "The Hunger Games".

"Our team immediately took measures to eliminate these concerns, as well as a conversation with our specialist, who regularly conducts disinfection. We have more than enough space to accommodate our headquarters staff," NASA spokesperson Cheryl Warner told the agency.

In turn, professor of social policy at the University of Michigan Pam Hurd, commenting on the situation, added that the "move fast and break things" approach does not work in cases where you need to make an important decision in your life and think about its consequences.

"That's why they tell everyone to go back to work, not taking into account the fact that they don't have a place to accommodate everyone," the sociologist noted.

In mid-January, the Daily Mail newspaper reported that, according to scientists, some bags of ground black coffee may contain microscopic particles of cockroaches and other insects that get there during grain processing. Ekaterina Kashukh, Candidate of Medical Sciences, gastroenterologist, and expert at the Hemotest Laboratory, told Izvestia that in most cases, tiny insect particles in ground coffee will not harm health, but there is an exception. So, drinking such a drink can cause an allergic reaction in people with allergies to mussels, oysters, shrimps, crayfish and other similar products.
