Russia is shocked by the terrorist attack on a passenger train in Pakistan. This was announced on March 13 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"We are shocked by the terrorist attack on a passenger train in the Pakistani province of Balochistan. It was committed, as you know, on March 11. Innocent civilians were injured," she said at a briefing.

The diplomat stressed that the actions of the militants "cannot be justified." Zakharova added that the perpetrators should be punished as they deserve.

In addition, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that the country is committed to strengthening constructive cooperation with Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.

On March 11, terrorists hijacked a train in Balochistan province. As reported by the British newspaper Daily Mail, the militants took passengers hostage and also wounded the driver.

According to the latest data from the Reuters news agency, the attackers killed at least 50 hostages. Later it became known that the passengers of the trip were released. 28 soldiers were killed during the operation.
