Boxer Sergeyev invited fans to "REN TV Fight Club" in Yoshkar-Ola

Russian boxer Sergey Sergeev, who is to fight Cuban Jorge Manuel Soto in the first fight of the new tournament "REN TV Fight Club", invited fans to visit the competition in Yoshkar-Ola and support the athletes.

"On February 28, I will have a bout against a boxer from the Cuban national team. I invite all sports fans and boxing enthusiasts to the city of Yoshkar-Ola in the Republic of Mari El to personally cheer for me and see exciting fights," he recorded a video message on February 23 from the airport in Kazan.

For those who will not be able to attend the arena in person, Sergeev suggested turning on the REN TV channel that evening and cheering "for the Russian guys" at the TV screens.

Earlier, on February 22, sports commentator Alexander Sadokov suggested that the upcoming middleweight bout between Russian Sergeyev and Cuban Soto in the first fight of the new "REN TV Fight Club" tournament will be truly "teeth-grinding". Sadokov called Russian amateur champion Sergeyev a bright and spectacular boxer. Sergeyev's opponent Soto, who is not among the top Cuban national team numbers, is a "big mystery," he added.

American boxer Roy Jones said on February 20 that he will visit the Republic of Mari El before "REN TV Fight Club." Jones also specified that he is going to visit the head of the republic and discuss some issues. In particular, he intends to find out how the next boxing tournament is progressing.

The new tournament "REN TV Fight Club" will be held on February 28, in the Ice Palace "Mari El" Yoshkar-Ola. In one of the most expected fights will fight Russian boxer Sergey Kuzmin and his rival from Ghana Ebenezer Tetteh. Besides them Igor Sviridchenkov and Cuban Roniel Iglesias will step into the ring, and Sergeyev will fight in a fight against Soto.
