- Psychologist told the reason for the difficult birth of children in the Russian Federation
It has become more difficult for Russians to decide to have a child. Why young families put off having children. Psychologist Stanislav Sambursky told Gazeta.Ru on February 8.
"The average age when a girl became a mother in the difficult 1990s was 22 years old. Now Russia is practically catching up with developed countries, where the first child appears at the age of 30. According to Rosstat, the age of a first-born girl is now 26," he said.
According to him, young couples are most often afraid of change, they realize that after the birth of a child, "it will not be like before." They will have new duties and responsibilities for a new life.
When a child appears, parents face great difficulties. The child needs constant attention and care, and this causes the parents chronic stress and emotional burnout. All of this can lead to anxiety disorder.
"In such conditions, young parents often experience emotional instability and depressive states. If there are couples without children in their environment, watching young parents with emotional breakdowns, their friends will be put off by the thought of having children of their own," he added.
In addition, there is fear related to the economic reason. Parents are simply afraid of "not being able to feed" their future child. As the psychologist explained, some families want a child, but worry about the poor life, others, on the contrary, are financially secure, but are afraid of ruining their careers.
Sambursky noted that couples need to start with a plan of action for the birth of a child and not forget about creating financial security. In his opinion, fears before the birth of the first child are normal. A conscious and responsible approach when planning for children will allow to raise a healthy personality and enjoy life
