The Russian Justice Ministry has added journalist Valery Panyushkin to the register of foreign agents. This is reported on February 7 by the website of the ministry.
"В. V. Panyushkin participated in the creation of messages and materials of a foreign agent for an unlimited number of persons. Disseminated unreliable information about the decisions taken by the public authorities of the Russian Federation and the policy pursued by them," reads the statement.
It is also noted that Panyushkin was engaged in forming a negative image of the Russian Armed Forces (AF) and opposed the special military operation in Ukraine. It is specified that the journalist is outside the Russian Federation.
The register of foreign agents also included political scientist Irina Busygina, blogger Mikhail Sheitelman, the project "Solidarity Zone", as well as journalist Anastasia Shevchenko, declared wanted in the case of participation in an undesirable organization in 2022.
Earlier, on January 31, the Ministry of Justice included the founder of the school "Orange" Vadim Zitser in the list of foreign agents. In the summer of 2024 the teacher was declared wanted in the case of dissemination of deliberately false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
