The Defense Ministry showed footage of the destruction of AFU manpower in the border area of the Kursk region

The Russian Defense Ministry has published footage of combat work by servicemen of motorized rifle regiment units as part of the "North" troop grouping to destroy armored vehicles and manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of the Kursk Region.

"Motorized riflemen are successfully conducting combat operations against Ukrainian armed formations day after day. The servicemen fulfill the tasks of both storming and consolidation of the liberated territories. In the course of hostilities the fighters, pushing back the enemy, seize trophies and take AFU servicemen prisoner," the ministry said.

The published footage shows that as a result of combat work, soldiers of the motorized rifle regiment were able to dislodge the enemy from fortified positions.

"There was a task from the command - to take these strongholds. <...> We worked, took everything beautifully, without losses. 11 prisoners were taken," a reconnaissance gunner with the call sign Volk reported after the battle.

The Defense Ministry also emphasized that the Russian Armed Forces (AF), supported by artillery and aviation, continue to destroy the enemy in the border area of the Kursk region.

"The enemy was defeated thanks to the actions of our soldiers. Together with reconnaissance, artillery, UAV calculations constantly monitor the situation," - said the battalion commander with the call sign Major.

It is noted that during the retreat of the AFU leave behind traces of destruction: damaged buildings and burned transport.

Earlier, the Defense Ministry showed footage of the reflection of AFU equipment in the area of Cherkassy Konopelka and Ulanka in the Kursk region. Fighting vehicles of the Ukrainian army managed to destroy with the help of FPV-drones.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
