Russian Ambassador to Japan assesses prospects for launching direct flights to Tokyo

The issue of resuming direct air service between Russia and Japan is in a "frozen" state, Russian Ambassador to Tokyo Nikolai Nozdrev told Izvestia.

"The embassy has repeatedly raised it with Japan's competent agencies. A constructive conversation on this topic can take place when official Tokyo realizes the perniciousness of the current anti-Russian course," the diplomat concluded.

In 2024, the tourist flow from Russia to Japan increased. Against this background, the country has simplified the issuance of visas to Russians.
