Almost half of Ukrainians polled negatively assessed the country's development

Almost 50 percent of Ukrainians believe that the situation in their country is moving in the wrong direction. This was reported by the website of the local sociological agency "Rating" on February 6.

"Criticism in assessments of the overall situation is growing among Ukrainians: about half (49%) of respondents believe that the situation in the country is developing in the wrong direction," the report said.

It is noted that the majority of Ukrainians report deterioration of the situation in various spheres of life 2024, most often it was about the economy and politics.

"Among the main threats respondents most often called economic (rising prices - 33% economic crisis - 32%)," - added in the agency.

Earlier, on January 27, the Ukrainian edition "Strana.ua" reported with reference to a survey by Socis that more than half of Ukrainian citizens are ready for the earliest possible negotiations with Russia on peace. At the same time, it noted that this indicator was steadily increasing.

On January 25, the same publication reported with reference to a survey conducted by the Democratic Initiative Foundation that every third young Ukrainian wants to leave the country. According to the survey, the largest number of those who want to leave the country is registered among residents of eastern Ukraine, where active hostilities continue.

On January 9, a poll on the website of the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KMIS) showed that the trust of Ukrainian residents in the country's president Volodymyr Zelenskyy (his term of office expired on May 20, 2024) has fallen by 39% since December 2022. It is specified that trust in the leader as an institution of power fell from 84% to 45%, and as a person - fell to 52%.

Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Artem Dmytruk said on December 22, 2024 that the majority of Ukrainians in hypothetical elections will vote against Zelensky and choose a politician who advocates peace with Russia. Dmytruk suggested that the ruling party would have won only 5 percent of votes if the voting was held fairly without pressure from military commissions.
